About Joyride

Joyride Pole Dance

At Joyride, we strive to help you celebrate yourself through movement! Whether you are brand new to dancing, a practiced trickster on the pole, a gooey and grounded floor explorer, an adventurer on the main stage, or some other glorious flavor of moving art, you will find what you need here. In this space, the priority is for you to tap into what brings *you* joy, with no other agenda.

Founded in 2024, Joyride Pole Dance is a private dance studio located in a residential space in the Edmonds-Lynnwood-Mukilteo area north of Seattle, Washington. Unlike other pole studios, we offer *only* private/semi-private lessons, which means you get individual attention and classes that cater to *your* goals, abilities, energy levels, and interests! In addition, *you* choose the day and time for each lesson so that it works for your life. Work with owner and instructor Sarah to reach your pole dancing and movement goals! <Emphasis on joy.>

Sarah (owner/instructor)

Hi, I’m Sarah!

In 2011, I impulsively spent $20 on an internet coupon for a pole dance class—how could I know it would change my life? Through pole, I found physical and mental strength, a beautiful uplifting community. I also discovered many ways to celebrate myself. Because of this, I hope to give that same gift to my students!

I describe my dance style as “lazy Sunday afternoon”—I am unhurried and unbothered. As my stage persona, Lola the Lonely Dominatrix, I aim to embody glorious self-love and self-indulgence. Without question, Lola stands as a beacon for all those headed down life’s path toward healing and self-acceptance.

As a teacher, I am relaxed and encouraging, with the goal of *you* feeling good in your body. To guide you there, I lead with humor and love to tap into the playful energies of people around me. Accordingly, I hold space for silliness, chaos, experimentation, characters, and storytelling. In the end, it’s all about you and *your* goals!

Come dance with me!
